Host of the City

A poem written by Issa Hussein

There was a snow rise

Spilled over like rice

In fact, I kept close a jacket of my size

For sure, I felt warmer then became so nice

That was welcome, welcome from Host of the city.

By the moment that was taking place

When I arrived in CA place

Everything thing to me was in a race

I was thinking easy easy, green grace

But no no, it was not like that, keep a viewing pace

I started making friends who had bless

That was welcome, welcome from Host of the city.

I kept the ways I had from

I didn’t want be in problem

Despite what I saw sad and alone

I was about to blame myself

I said hey come on

Although remaining jammed with stress

That was welcome, welcome from Host of the city.

But I stuck with the advice of dad then,

to live with anyone in way of straight

In order to dodge being the sorrow target

“stay away” for me not to regret

All to fight against crime set

live peacefully not outside of the gate

That was welcome, welcome from Host of the city.

I say because there was big challenge

to compare to my habit

Cause I wondered about the ways of people’s lives

How they differ from where I’m from like Iran

Both in image and style but I wait with weight while I learn, learn

That was welcome, welcome from Host of the city.

With class I stood firm with hope

which helped me to survive daily

So I was ready

Sure to cope

To go up with my focus mainly

Exacting those gave me good management of both my economy and mentality

That was welcome, welcome from Host of the city.

I put myself in lockup, with things which would play with my mind

I decided to look far forward before, to maintain my future goals fine

That was welcome, welcome from Host of the city.

I am at end of write and read

To finish this poetry

Purpose to intend greeting, also to say bye kwaheri

Of course I would like thanking for anyone’s kindness in city of country

That was welcome welcome from Host of the city.
