The summer is a great time to take advantage of seasonal work opportunities and earn money before returning to school.
Finding a summer job is similar to finding a job the rest of the year. But there are some differences:
- You might enjoy working outside.
- Special summer job programs are available for students.
- There is more competition for jobs because school is out for summer vacation.
Start your search early. Some programs open as early as the start of the school year for the following summer! You may want to visit employment support programs available to you, whether from an employment agency, settlement agency, or your school’s career centre.
Be prepared to submit a customized resume and cover letter and practice your interview skills.
