The first 15 week cohort from July 10th-Oct 23rd will offer clients pre-employment skills training, career goal setting and CBT workshops!
Participants will learn cyber technical skills from Ali Hiriji, a well-known member of the cyber community. This program is created in partnership with IBM, and once participants complete it, they will receive the IBM Cybersecurity Analyst Professional Certificate along with additional learning opportunities that they can explore using the SkillsBuild Platform.
Participants will be fully supported throughout their job search and become connected with employment opportunities!
Eligibility Requirements Include:
- Must have the ability to commit to 15 weeks full time (Mon – Fri) in class/virtual training program starting July 10th, 2024.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada and must be a Canadian Citizen, PR, Convention Refugee, Refugee Claimant or have a pending PR application (open work permit, approved in principle).
- IT/Coding/Technical knowledge and experience is an asset.
- Must NOT currently be employed or enrolled in education or other training.
- Must NOT have previously completed an SDF-funded program (Y2T/Y2TLE).
- Must be highly motivated to participate.
- Priority will be given to applicants 29 years old or under, diverse populations, First Nations or Inuit, and those who represent an underserved or underrepresented community.
