About this Event
Door Steps to Democracy is a new youth run organization that focuses on educating newcomer youth about government in Canada and how to take on leadership roles in this field. The organization helps to provide newcomer youth with the tools they need to succeed in taking action on issues that matter to them.
Door steps to Democracy is partnering up with Welcome Home Toronto, Skills for Change, The Mosaic Institute, Ontario Council for International Cooperation and The Center for Social Innovation to host a day about teaching newcomer youth about Canadian politics and leadership skills. The event is for refugees/newcomers and immigrant youth ages 15-25 to come together for an educational event featuring a panel discussion and workshop/networking session to build their confidence, leadership, and to build relationships with other youth. The event will have a total of six panelist who all have experience in youth engagement, politics, building leadership skills, working with newcomer youth and providing the tools to help youth to succeed.
