Why Do I Need A Certificate to Babysit?
Babysitting (taking care of someone else’s children) is great way to make some money at any age, but it carries a lot of responsibility.
Babysitting classes teach you how to take care of kids while their parents/guardians are not around. You can show your certificate to parents so they know you have the knowledge to be a good babysitter.
Where Do I Find Classes?
To find a babysitting class, check with the Ontario Red Cross. You can also watch this short video clip for more information.
You can also ask your school or local community centre if they have any classes planned in the near future. This can save you some time and money.
A few things to know:
- Babysitting classes cost $30 to $150. Ask the course provider for details.
- Babysitting classes are 8 hours in total.
- Once you obtain the certificate, it will only be valid for 3 years.
