Does OSAP count as income for subsidized housing?

Hello,

i saw this question answered, but i am the head of the house, i think. I am 24, and my name is on the lease. My mom is on ODSP, and my younger sister is in college. So i have started school in January, and they are asking how much i am receiving from OSAP. How much rent will they determine ?

my mom, me and my younger sister live in the apartment.

I dont want to provide them the OSAP information if our rent will be market rent.

Hello,

Thank you for the follow up question.

The important thing to remember about your situatuion: OSAP is not considered income and will not affect your rent. If you have a job or are receiving money from Ontario Works (OW) or Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP), your rent will be affected because they are considered income.

If you are a full-time student receiving OSAP, you may be asked to provide a timetable or schedule from your school and your rent will be set to the available minimum.

I hope that helps.
