You are invited to the Annual Street Law Smarts forum hosted by Justice for Children and Youth in collaboration with our community partner Sketch - Working Arts!
This forum is geared towards frontline workers who work with youth. We also welcome and encourage anyone who is interested in gaining more knowledge on how to support young people in navigating the legal system to come to the forum.
Workshops will provide practical legal information related to street-involved youth which will then be infused into scenarios commonly encountered by street-involved youth–a segment led by Acting Out, a program of SKETCH. Participants will get to put their new knowledge into practice by applying it to scenarios reflecting real-life situations.
Immediate feedback by Acting Out and the Street Youth Legal Services Lawyer is available for those who request it.
Topics covered will be:
- Employment Rights
- Navigating Young People with Mental Health concerns through Criminal Court
You will receive a Street Law Smarts Manual for attending the program. This forum has been generously funded and supported by The Law Foundation of Ontario.
