Can you become a citizen?

If you have a permanent residency can you, and if you can, when can you become  a citizen of Canada?

If you have permanent residency, then you absolute can apply to become a Canadian citizen. To do so, you'll have to :

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Have been physically present in Canada for 3 out of the 5 years before the day you apply
  • Know how to speak or write in either English or French (Canada's two official languages)
